“It’s absolutely wonderful the way stimuli – internally and externally – are turned into work. I feel a deep nostalgia for the past, what I experienced as a child, but even before. How is this done? I do not know. However, the old black and white photos that have flooded my laboratory are familiar to me. Almost familiar. This nostalgia is transferred to my works. Not obviously, but the more sensitive receivers realize it. Maybe the colors, maybe the choice of objects in the compositions. Subconsciously everything is chosen in order to try to revive the past, or even a sense of it. Some days the painting process is difficult. There are, however, days when five o’clock seems like a quarter of an hour. Then I feel as if I have been radiated somewhere where there is neither space nor time. In a place of absolute calm and bliss. It is difficult for this to be understood by someone who has not experienced it. Bach music has been a permanent part of my laboratory for the last 5-6 years. Music of kindness, understanding and awe. Like God. Dense music, rich but also structured. The ideal companion to share the anxieties and joys of the painting process. ”
